Rockclimbers

2021

The most detailed family portrait I’ve painted – yet. I spent a pleasant evening with the couple to learn as much about them as possible – I’ve learned about their life story, their hobbies, experiences and interesting details that would fit perfectly into the painting. Then I started sketching and we met again to polish the sketch – we came up with a few adjustments and new things to add to the painting. I redrew the sketch afterward and started painting afterwards. This painting consists of many details and things, everything has a meaning and place. I also added a miniature of me into the painting.

Size: 90 × 70 cm

Digitally printed on matte cotton canvas, grammage 280g/m². Canvas is stretched to a wooden frame with 3 cm profile, the painting goes over the edge so it’s not necessary to put it in frame.
