My friend and his girlfriend received the painting as a Christmas gift from his mom, so they wouldn’t have bare walls in their apartment, and, more importantly, to remind them daily at the table of their identity—one they’ve built together over the years. The painting is full of details reflecting both their individual and shared lives, with inside jokes and life milestones.
